I’ve been wanting to do a portrait shoot at uShaka Beach since the beginning of the year. I’m so glad it finally happened.
Kimone Reginald was a pleasure to work with. She’s a model and fellow photographer, so she also contributed ideas from time to time.
We shot closer to mid-day, which meant that the sun was starting to get harsh, but we managed to get some really decent shots.
I decided to try some black and white photos and the outcome was really pleasing. The light background created by the surroundings is just perfect.
It’s true that black and white images have more of a mood than colour. Comparing the two, I think that Kimone’s personality comes out more in the black and white images. Colour gives the eye a lot to be occupied with.
