Richard Ellis has been in the music industry for year, and he plays a crazy array of instruments. We met up after his performance at the Three Monkeys Restaurant in Glenwood, and a brief shoot. I enjoyed shooting him because he’s open to trying different things. We must have tried four different locations in total, in and around the Glenwood Village Shopping Centre. The music store, Glenwood Village Music, provided the best setting.

Lighting was a challenge once again. I’ve learned in retrospect that manual focus is best when shooting a still subject, especially when the background is busy. I feel like a lot of shots were wasted by not always having the focus on the right place. That also speaks to my previous images not being sharp enough.
